Edition Notes

Introduction signed by Lawrence G. Blackmon and O M Brack, Jr.

One of the sources for the account of the interview with the King that appears in James Boswell's Life of Samuel Johnson (1791); it may be based on a letter from William Strahan, Johnson's printer and friend, to William Warburton, Bishop of Gloucester.

Includes the account of the interview excerpted from Boswell's Life of Samuel Johnson.

"The manuscript of the Strahan Minute, formerly owned by S.C. Roberts, is now in the collection of Lawrence G. Blackmon"
