A collection of articles written for the Pall Mall Magazine in 1902-3, turned into a book, 1904. The text merges 'the factual scenes of biography with the fictional scenes by the writer' and includes maps of fictive action, which Zemgulys claims, creates a relation betweenlandscape, literature and identity (Andrea Zemgulys, Modernism and the locations of literary heritage, 2008, p.22). William Smart has a short biography in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (2008).
