A geographical memoir. The author's old neighborhood, part of the Lower East side of Manhattan. Author lived there
from 1934 -1938, mostly on 29th St. With many maps and photos, author recalls his school, tenements, stores, churches.
Kips Bay was torn down and mostly rebuilt with high rise apartments and malls from 1960s on. Memoir reconstructs the
historic geography of the area.
