A new college grad from Kent State University, Chelsea Malino, lands an explorative writer's job aboard a hired boat, with her first assinment: Spy on Ni'ihau!
Her magazine publisher want to know what goes on, on Ni'ihau.

Successful stories land her deeper into the Pacific Ocean, exlploring those rich-in-history atolls and islands that the United States owns. Her publisher wants to know, first hand, what goes on out in the Pacific Islands where the language is English and the currency is the dollar.

She goes as far as exploring the U.S. Territory of Guam just above the equtor, and lastly, just below the equator into the South Pacific of America Samoa. She takes a personal interest in the area where Amelia Earhart went down, as well as the bad-luck-island of Palmyra.
