Way Lee: 100 years on

Way Lee: 100 years on tells the story of Yett Soo War Way Lee (1852-1909) who came to Australia in the 1870s at a time when life for Chinese people was not easy. He became a successful trader and businessman with an eye on the potential for expansion of trade between Australia and China. Way Lee was a family man who had business interests all over Australia but a main base in Adelaide. He was a person who challenged systematic biases in the political system. Way Lee was also an active proponent of social reform, particularly in relation to Chinese people in Australia.
