Between 1825-1829, Carl Friedrich Ganzel and Friedrich Wulff toured the United States. Along the way they stopped in and whenever possible spent some time working in American mills. These fellows noted the tools and techniques of American milling and upon their return to Prussia, published : "Beiträge zur Kenntniss des amerikanischen Mühlenwesens und der Mehlfabrikation", which transformed Prussian and by extension European mills. This volume contains an English translation of Ganzel & Wulff's work, as well as some related treatises and commentaries.
