Il n'enlève plus de la matière d'un bloc pour créer des formes, des reliefs et des creux, mais il part du vide et assemble le métal pour créer un réceptacle de lumière. Le modus operandi de Dietrich-Mohr (1924), qui n'est pas sans rappeler celui de Henry Moore, convoque différents métaux qui révèlent sa palette de couleurs infinies du fait de la capacité de l'acier inoxydable, du corten, du laiton, du bronze ou de l'inox à absorber ou à renvoyer la lumière. Il développe alors son propre vocabulaire plastique qui offre au sculpteur-assembleur une combinaison infinie de formes nichées dans ses sculptures monumentales. Ici, 517 pièces.
