Holograph, signed.
Annie Allen discusses Maria Weston Chapman's suggestion that the articles remaining unsold from the [Anti-Corn Law] "Monster Bazaar" be procured for the Boston anti-slavery fair. George Thompson will recommend to anti-slavery friends that they make such purchases. Annie feels that she does not deserve any praise for her "easy drawing room anti-slavery." She rejoices to hear that Frederick Douglass may come soon. Since Annie is on the eve on a journey on the continent, she feels "it would be very mortifying to miss meeting him." She asks if Abby Kelley has any thought of coming here. Annie welcomes Maria W. Chapman and William L. Garrison with the greatest affection.
