An edition of [Letter to] Dear sir (1837)

[Letter to] Dear sir

The Brookfield Association appointed a committee to invite non-members of the Association to confer with them regarding the propriety of calling a convention of Worcester County ministers to declare their views on slavery. A preliminary meeting of the committee was held at the house of Reverend Levi Packard in Spencer. The committee was composed of Seth Alden and the Reverend Doctor Snell of North Brookfield. The letter ends with an invitation to May to attend the meeting to be held at the Temperance House in Leicester on October 30.
