An edition of Blood Money (2011)

Blood Money

The National Rare Blood Association is suspected of laundering money to terrorist groups. When Private Investigator Mark Matthews and FBI Agent Susan Harrigan collect evidence against the NRBA, they became willing combatants in the “War on Terror”.

John Portman, Director of Security for the NRBA is equally intent on avoiding detection. He traces Mark’s and Susan’s probe into the NRBA’s computer to Susan, resulting in her kidnapping, torture, being shot and left for dead in an abandoned warehouse. The abduction prompts Special Agent in Charge, Dennis Peterson to recruit Mark as a Special Agent to help in the hunt for Susan. His lover, Susan Harrington, has been abducted and his highly developed techniques for locating missing persons are needed to find her.
Mark successfully locates the building where Susan is being held and a FBI raid rescues her in the nick of time. The information she and Mark uncovered is sufficient for the FBI to shut down the NRBA and Portman is killed during the shootout that follows.
But, the story doesn’t end there. The romance between Susan and Mark continues while Susan recovers and Mark undergoes FBI training at Quantico, however, unknown to both, Portman’s assistant Mel Tarkington is hell bent on revenge. He targets Susan as being responsible for the collapse of the NRBA. He stalks her, waiting for the right opportunity to penetrate the shield of protection the FBI erects around her.
The ending to this fast paced suspense/thriller will surprise you.
