SCNHRB copy has tipped in on the front free endpaper: a typed letter signed ([1] page), on the letterhead of the American Museum of Natural History, Department of Ornithology, dated December 28, 1937, from Ernst Mayr to S. Dillon Ripley in the Schildpad Islands, thanking Ripley for sending Mayr a list of birds seen in the Schildpad Islands.

SCNHRB copy has bookplates: 1. Ex libris S. Dillon Ripley 2nd.; 2. Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Purchased with funds from Dr. Alan Kabat.

SCNHRB copy has a black buckram binding; the original printed blue paper cover is bound in.
