Written in the late seventies by Edward Ed Rupert and Steven J. Linton, The Dive Rescue Specialist manual. Was designed to provide actual field practical application to the Rescue Diver. Both men founded, the International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists, and Dive Rescue International. Their efforts are the precursor to the modern day water rescuer. Developed in conjunction with the Larimer County Sheriff Department, Poudre Fire Authority, Loveland Fire, Fort Collins Police Department and Poudre Valley Health Systems, as well as Scuba Schools International. Because of the efforts of these two pioneers in water rescue, many lives have been saved around the world.
