esamine's assignment, doing research into an old French family in a romantic chateau, would be fascinating. The fact that there was a long-standing link between the d'Armor family and her own added immensely to the interest. But her work, and her relationship with the attractive Paul d'Armor, led her into deeper waters than she had expected.... for she soon realised that there was some mystery about the family that they were anxious should be concealed from her. Paul was particularly suspicious of her - which was a pity, as Jasmine had speedily fallen in love with him. How could she go on with her work without alienating him altogether?
