Title is followed on t.p. by "Epigramma ad lectorem," 8 verses beginning "Argutos quicunq[ue] optas haurire Poetae / sensus ...," ending "Nam lecto dices doctius esse nihil."
Commentary, by Giovanni Sulpizio (his In Lucani Pharsaliam interpretatio), envelopes the typographically emphasized primary text, mostly from three sides.
Imprint from colophon, p. [423]; there also a complex woodcut device (shield with P/S held up by lions, with other animals).
