Work Description

Gjennom fire generasjoner følger vi en fargerik familie i en leilighet i Kirkeveien i Oslo. I sentrum av den dramatiske handlingen står Fred, som ble unnfanget ved en voldtekt på tørkeloftet, og den yngre halvbroren Barnum. Romanen følger brødrenes vidt forskjellige oppvekst på 60- og 70-tallet i Oslo. Barnum er kunstneren som går på mange pinefulle nederlag, og iblant reddes av den mer hardtslående broren. Men Fred lever i taushet og skygge, og bærer på hemmeligheter.
