Presents three personal stories that chronicle black history in Michigan. Sara Elizabeth Haskell has been known as the "Rosa Parks of the Boblo Boat," but she actually led the way for Rosa Parks on the banks of the Detroit River in 1945. Duane Gerlach was the master of ceremonies for black face minstrel shows that were staged for over 10 years in a Detroit suburb. Film clips from the 1959 are included in the documentary. In 1932 during the Great Depression, Dave Moore marched to appeal for jobs, but he witnessed the brutality that caused five deaths at the borderline of Dearborn and Detroit. Dave discusses how the experience changed his life. Two extras are Raw footage in the Union Hall, in which Dave Moore guides a tour detailing numerous photographs in the hallway of UAW Local 600 in Dearborn, and Mount Clemens Hi-12 minstrel show, period footage of the 1959 black face musical variety show, with nonsync sound.
