Edition Notes

Essays on the role of color in 17 occupations, illustrated with original and facsimile color charts, palettes, and sample cards.

Book is housed in a clamshell box with a prism, a multicolored ribbon, a Calco Chemical Company Calcogene dye sample card, a Courtaulds Ltd. dye-test thread card, and a pamphlet titled "Hair" containing hair samples.

"This book was designed and set in Monotype Fournier by Barbara Hodgson. Rollin Milroy at Heavenly Monkey printed it damp on Arches paper. All hand colouring and other embellishments were done by the authors, using watercolour or gouache paints from artists' colourmen or from ground and prepared raw pigments. Claudia Cohen bound each copy in her Seattle studio. The edition is 30 numbered and five A.P. copies, each signed by the two authors"--Colophon.
