Mele Bruniard was born in 1930 in Reconquista, Santa Fe. Since 1942 she lives in Rosario. She is recognized for her unique woodcut work; however, she always supported the practice of drawing at the same time, recreating a very rich universe that draws its sources from nature, as well as stories from very diverse and ancient cultures. From 1954 she made samples, individual and collective, inside and outside the country, many of them along with Eduardo Serón. She has obtained important distinctions for her work and her career as an artist, among which the Trabucco Prize in 2000 stands out. Her works are part of numerous public and private collections.
