"Mehrere Strukturen aus grossen Eisblöcken - 9 x 3 m und 2,4m hoch - baute Allan Kaprow im Oktober 1967 an mehreren öffentlichen Orten in Pasadena. Die Struktur wurde sich selbst überlassen und schmolz dahin. Der Künstler, der bekannt geworden ist durch die ephemere Kunstform des Happenings, nannte den Begriff der 'Re-invention' (Neuerfindung) als zentral für den zukünftigen Umgang mit seinem Werk. Dieser Idee der kreativen Neuerfindung des Werkes folgend realisierte die Nationalgalerie 2015 anlässlich des Kooperationsprojektes 'STADT/BILD' fünf Versionen von Fluids, eine historische, institutionelle und vier von Künstler/innen-(gruppen) gedachte Versionen im Berliner Stadtraum. Beteiligte Künstler*innen: Antje Majewski, Agnieszka Polska, Olivier Guesselé-Garai, Assaf Gruber und Juliane Solmsdorf, Alexandra Pirici, STADT IM REGAL und Ahmet Öğüt"--Publisher's website.

"During three days, about twenty rectangular enclosures of ice blocks (measuring about 30 feet long, 10 wide and 8 high) are built throughout the city. Their walls are unbroken. They are left to melt."
