An extensive selection of the architectural and design production of modernist architect Miguel Eyquem Astorga (b. Santiago de Chile), a team member of the School of Valparaíso and one of the founding member of the Institute of Architecture of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. In 1971, he won the Premio Nacional de Urbanismo. His interest and skill in the domain of air and lightness, are the result of his experiences in aeronautics (as pilot and pilot instructor, as a designer of air fields and as a researcher, designer and constructor of experimental aircrafts) which allowed him to venture into the science of materials, including fluid mechanics, high-strength composite materials, laminar and alveolar structures etc.
