I read this book about 30 years ago, loaned it out and never got it back so my review is based on memory. An excellent book, so much so that 30 years later I'm still looking for a copy to reread.
This book was an examination of some of the more controversial events of the Bible such as the Great Flood in Genesis, and the Longest Day, as recorded in Joshua chapter 10. The premise put forth was, if the Bible is an accurate record of world history then some of these events that would be global in nature, should be found in the ancient writings of different people groups around the world. And they are. The author showed the flood event was recorded in the writings of virtually every ancient people group everywhere in the world from North American Indians to Asians to Africans... wherever writings could be found and deciphered. Same thing with Joshua's longest day. Ancient writings from all over the world mentioned a day - or night, depending on where in the world they were located - that lasted much longer than normal. He delved into quite a few controversial events from the Bible and proved them by other historical writings from peoples unrelated to the Israelites or the Bible. Very thoroughly researched and well written to my memory. I'd like to read it again.
