The Game Masters Grimoire

100 Dungeon NPCs

Introduction

Amidst the damp, murky confines of the sewer, a dishevelled figure huddles against the cold stone wall, their wrists shackled to a rusted iron grate. Tattered clothing hangs loosely on their gaunt frame, and a weary, haunted expression belies a fierce will to survive. As the party approaches, the captive's eyes flash with a desperate hope.

In the grand chamber of an ancient temple ruin, an exuberant adventurer strides with unbridled confidence, their brightly polished armour and flamboyant attire clashing with the surrounding decay. Wielding an ornate weapon with a theatrical flourish, the boisterous individual regales the party with embellished tales of their daring exploits.

Sometimes coming up with an NPC on the fly can be difficult, but even more so is coming up with all the details that make the NPC stand out from the rest and leave a lasting impression on your players. Or perhaps sometimes your players just need another NPC to take down on their quest to...take down NPCs it seems. You never know though they may surprise you and actually let you roleplay as one. In either case that’s what this book is all about, giving you a plethora of options regarding the NPCs your players might stumble across within a dungeon.
