Edition Notes
Entirely engraved.
Dedication and plate [10] signed Valerianus Regnartius; the two plates of Michelangelo's unbuilt S. Giovanni dei Fiorentini, signed as well, also have monogram "DR" del.
Related to collections of prints of the churches of Rome held by the British Library, Bibliothèque nationale and the Biblioteca Hertziana (all to be found by searching under Regnartius, Valerianus).
All but 3 of the 30 plates were reused, reworked, in the 1683 and 1684 editions of "Insignium Romae templorum". The unused plates are the dedication and those depicting Santa Maria Lauretana.
Plates 2 and 3 comprise the dome and facade of S. Andrea delle Valle and were intended to be considered as one image.
