Wonderfuly written account of the ghosts, legends, and folklore of Northumberland. Atmospheric, engaging with a use of prose that modern authors just can't duplicate. People used to todays bland manner of storytelling should pick this up and just wallow in it, and see what they are missing. Recently re-published and available once again. Very highly recommended.
