The Studio references American painters Mary Evelyn Harju and Abby Heller-Burnham, both of whom were active in Philadelphia in the Aughts. In adjacent fiction books, Harju appears as Trish Webber and Heller-Burnham as Tobi Simon.

Something Solid is a triptych of sonnets and double sonnets by American writer Adam Fieled. It explores the author's life in the Nineties and in Aughts Philadelphia, and up to the present day.
