An edition of Das Exempel Graf Sponeck (1970)

Das Exempel Graf Sponeck.

Ein Beitr. z. Thema Hitler u. d. Generale.

This book is in German and relates the full biography of General Hans Emil Otto von Sponeck from his beginnings to his execution at the hands of the Nazi's, a few days after the bomb attempt on Hitler. Sponeck who soldiered from his youth, fought in both wars, related here, and ended being cashiered for mercifully withdrawing his surrounded troops in the Kursk Peninsula. He was court martialled and imprisoned. He was executed on Himmler's orders shortly after 20th July 1940 for simply being a suspected anti-nazi. He was a true example in more than one way! An excellent read and should find a translator. This man has a story to tell! Count Sponneck
