"Signed by John Small, clerk of the Council, this order-in-council provides for the lieutenant-governor-in-council to take over the duties of the land boards. Appended to the end of the text is a list of the fees payable to various officials for services connected with the granting of land"--Tremaine.
Another ed. (Tremaine 915, TPL 674) is not signed "John Small, C.C.," but rather "John Small, clerk of the Council", and lacks the note at end, beginning: N.B. This list includes fees to all persons ... Yet another ed. exhibits textual variants, among them a date in the title reading "November 6th 1794" rather than "November 6, 1794."
