"Fontes iuris ciuilis" (prelim. leaves [47]a-[48]a) give "Leges Romuli" (18 items) and "Quaedam Duodecim tabularum capita" (60 items), rather questionable versions of fragments of Antejustinian legal sources.
Device on t.p.: Garlanded heart-shaped fountain supported by putti/angels; a different fountain in architectural frame on last page.
Colophon: Venetiis, Apud Nicolaum Beuilaquam, 1565.
Dedicatory letter of H. Messaggius to Senator Federicus Baduarius (prelim. leaf [2]) is dated 1558.
Each of the four books of the Institutions is introduced by a 48 x 80 mm woodcut depicting scenes related to the main themes of the book; on leaf [212]a, a representation of the "arbor civilis."
