The volume, in publisher's original cloth binding, ends with p. 416; it does not contain "Full-page lithographic plates" (at p. 260, 274, 290 and 320) the "Full-page half-tone portraits [of race-horses]" (p. 420-432) and the "Medal presented to Professor Gleason" (p. 433) referred to in the lists of illustrations and plates following "Table of contents".
