Edition Notes
Alphabetically arranged digest based on the collection of Rota decisions begun in the 17th cent. by Prospero Farinacci, continued by others and published in 25 volumes in Rome (?) and in Venice in 1716. Decisions in the collection, known as "Recentiores," date from 1558 through 1683.
The Milan compilers' names are given in v. 5 (prelim. p. [6]): Camillus Gallia de Puteo, Andreas Tornagus, Benedictus de Allegris, Joannes Baptista Valtorta.
Title pages in red and black; in v. 1-5, with an engraving of seated Justice displaying shield with beehive and motto "Mens omnibus una." Half title pages.
The (changing) dedications in v. 1-5 are headed by engravings which include portraits.
Vol. 2, with imprint date 1730, includes approbations of Milan censors dated 30 March 1731; v. 3-6 have the date 1731 on t.p.
Vol. 1: [24], 688 p.; v. 2: [20], 742 p.; v. 3: [20, the last two blank], 517 p.; v. 4: [16], 473; v. 5: [20], 483 p.; v. 6: [16], 122 p. Two-column layout.
Each volume has in prelim. matter its own "Index titulorum."
