Errata: p. 47.
Copy owned and inscribed by James Dunlop Harris, a principal engineer on the Western Division of the Pennsylvania Canal. Four leaves of manuscript material on canals are bound in, and two others laid in, with some newspaper clippings.
Also laid in is a copy of a deposition by Caleb A. Alexander, one of Harris' assistants, concerning Harris' conduct after his dismissal from his position in 1829. Harris subsequently vindicated himself and was reinstated.
