Original binding in red cloth boards 5.75" x 8.75" Front Stamped in gilt with title Portuguese Nyassalandand and a crowned armorial shield in gilt ,white and blue .The spine bears the same title with top and bottom edges stamped with a gilt double thread .

Inside of binding and faces free front and rear flies paper coloured black.

Red cloth and board pocket at the back should contain no less than THREE unlined paper Maps as follows :-
1. Plan of the city of Porto Amelia , Portuguese Nyassaland .
approx 15" x 10" Waterlow & Sons limited , LondonWall , London (Legend etc. in both English and Portuguese).
2. Map of the territories of the Nyassa Company. Scale 23 miles to 1 inch , Size approx 23" x 16" George Phillip & Son London & Liverpool .
