In prose, with the exception of the songs, and certain passages, and Ein sommernachtstraum, by Wieland, and Richard III by Eschenburg.
A revision of Weiland's translation to which is added Heinrich V, Heinrich VI, Richard III, Heinrich VIII, Zähmung eines bösen weibes, Die lustigen weiber von Windsor, Verlorne liebesmühe, Ende gut, alles gut, Troilus und Cressida, Coriolan, Cymbeline and Titus Andronicus.
The first edition (1775-82) contained an additional volume of the doubtful plays.
