Viollet-le-Duc was an architect and restorer living during the XIX Century in France. He was commissioned by the French State to restore buildings dating from the Middle Ages (i.e. castles and strongholds, and, among others, the old French city of Carcassonne). This book here is about the process of building a house typical of the European (probably French) Middle Ages.
