His former students teaching in different Swiss universities, took this opportunity to honour his broad and diverse contribution as an academic and a judge in the fields of constitutional and international law through this book dedicated to him. They had been personally linked to him since his time as a professor at the University of Basel and a member of various courts, and as judge at the ECtHR.
