Book Details
First Sentence
"This book began as a book about late medieval habits of mind and the English mystery plays, but it soon became a book laboring with increasing vexation to connect the ceremonial spirituality and Marian iconography of the East Anglian N-Town cycle (long known by the misnomer inscribed in the manuscript by Sir Robert Bruce Cotton's librarian, Ludus Coventriae) with the late medieval cycles of biblical plays from York, Wakefield, and Chester."
