A translation of: Thomas Paine's The American crisis, numbers I-III, first published together [Philadelphia, 1777?]
The American crisis, not to be confused with the serial The Crisis, printed from 1775-1776, was published in XIII numbers plus a supernumerary issue entitled The crisis extraordinary, of which only those numbered as II, III, IV, V, and The crisis extraordinary were first printed in America as separate pamphlets; the rest were given directly to newspapers
"La crise américaine. No. Ier": p. [1]-20 p., has separate caption title; first printed with caption title only in Philadelphia by Styner and Cist, 1776
"No. 2. A Lord Howe": p. 21-57, has separate caption title, and is dated on p. 21: A Philadelphia, le 13 janvier 1777; first printed Philadelphia by Styner and Cist, 1777
"No. 3": p. 58-124, has separate caption title and is dated on p. 124: A Philadelphia, le 19 avril 1777, et l'an 1er de l'Union; first printed Philadelphia by Styner and Cist, 1777
