Holograph, signed
On pages 1-3 of this manuscript, there is a letter by Edward Morris Davis to Anne Warren Weston. Davis replies to an inquiry about the raising of money "to carry out the plan you have in view in reference to G. Thompson," by saying that, in the absence of J. M. McKim, it is very hard to keep his organization in proper working order. He does not think it would be advisable to invite George Thompson to the United States. Davis quotes from a letter he wrote to McKim to the effect that he disapproves of Thompson coming here and making a living by anti-slavery lecturing
On page 4, there is a separate note by Mrs. Lucretia Coffin Mott to Anne Warren Weston. Mott discusses George Thompson's proposed emigration to America and agrees with Edward Morris Davis that it is inadvisable
