The Arran Murder
3 items | Last modified March 4, 2019In July 1889, two me went walking up the highest mountain on The Isle of Arran, Western Scotland. They were recently acquainted and both on a short holiday. That mountain was known as Goatfell. The men were known as Annandale and Edwin Rose.
Annandale was actually John Watson Laurie and Edwin Rose never left the island again.
Here are the books on the subject of this case. More will be addesd if it is discovered that they contain this sordid tale too. -
Notable British Trials
18 items | Last modified March 3, 2019The series, Notable British Trials, incomplete here on the open library, is one of my favourite series on trials and crimes. There are some very good tales from the Victorian era which grab you from the start.
I love William Roughead and so included a book or two of his also.
The Arran Murder is a particular favourite of mine, found in Twelve Scots Trials. -
