As such, they had a unique perspective into the development of Islam and its relationship with Christianity. In the present work, Sydney H. Griffith provides a basic overview of Syriac authors that addressed the issue of Islam in their writings. Griffith pays particular attention to the genre of 'dialogue' literature that featured a debate between a Christian and a Muslim. Griffith also discusses the major themes that recur in this literature"--P. [4] of cover.
