520 8 $aBorn in Freiburg in 1931, architect Christoph Hackelsberger is known above all for the restoration of historical buildings and the modernisation of existing buildings. But he also worked successfully for many years as an architecture journalist for newspapers such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, the FAZ and the Welt am Sonntag and as editor of numerous technical publications that have left their mark it was not without reason that he was considered one of the most important architectural critics in Germany thanks to his literary skills and his keen eye for detail.0As professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and chairman of the Bavarian Association of German Architects (BDA), he was held in esteem as speaker and expert in his field; he was awarded numerous prizes and honours for his work. The richly illustrated book gives an insight into Hackelsbergers multifaceted work, including design and art. Hackelsberger has a say in the book with his own texts, but also people who accompanied him through his career and their articles and obituaries paint a picture of his life and work.
