520 $a"The Spanish researcher Jorge Cabezas Miranda selected for the present volume eight numbers of independent literary magazine Diaspora (s), published in Havana between 1997 and 2002. Rolando Sanchez Mejias, Carlos A. Aguilera, Ricardo Alberto Pérez, Pedro Marques de Armas, Roger Saunders, José Manuel Prieto, Radames Molina, Ismael González Castañer, and other literary authors had formed a literary group in 1993 -- Proyecto Diáspora(s) -- and published the Diáspora(s) magazine for five years. The magazine appeared in small print runs, which did not exceed 200 copies, made and distributed in photocopies outside the official channels. In his response to the publication, Gerardo Muñoz admits: 'Neither in Latin American criticism, where I position myself as a researcher, nor within the discussions on the Cuban culture the Diaspora(s) has been ever placed in the space it deserves.' The facsimile edition of all numbers of the magazine and studies accompanying these documents are a major step on the road to justice for that criticism."--Diary of Cuba (English version in Google translation).
