The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown and a multi-page manuscript summary is inscribed by G. Furman, Brooklyn, L.I. (possibly Garrit Furman, 1782-1848). This copy is bound together with one other work in a volume titled Hoadly and Montcreiff plays, which contains: [1]: The suspicious husband: a comedy as it is acted at the Theatre-Royal in Covent Garden -- [2]: Appius: a tragedy as it is acted at the Theatre-Royal in Covent Garden. In this copy the two-page dedication signed by Montcreiff is wanting.
