500 $aConsists of 21 articles, in which the Indians acknowledge subjugation to the British crown and the British guarantee them protection. They provide that no English settlement shall be made nearer than three miles of any Indian town and exclusivity to certain fishing grounds. The treaty was signed by the queens of Pamunkey and Waonoke tribes, the kings of the Nancymond and Nottoway [Cheroenhaka] tribes, and by captain John West, son of the queen of Pamunkey. Their marks are reproduced on p. 16.
