520 $aThis thesis examines the political, economic and cultural position of the Circassian minority in Jordan. Although the Circassian minority constitutes only about 1% of the population it occupies a disproportionately influencial political and economic position. This thesis provides a brief historical background of the Circassians prior to their migration to Transjordan, outlines the means by which the Circassians reached their high status in Jordanian society, the methods by which they have maintained this position, and offers a projection as to the future of the Circassians in Jordan.
