520 $aChapter one deals with the study of polynomial ideals. The main result proved in chapter two is that for the study of (Lie) dimension subgroups over arbitrary coefficient rings it is enough to restrict to integral and modular coefficients. Chapter three is an exposition of a portion of a fundamental paper of Hartley. Chapter four demonstrates the calculations of dimension subgroups over fields. Chapter five studies polynomials maps on groups and show the calculations of integral dimension subgroups in certain case. Chapters six and seven are devoted to the study of the intersection of powers of an augmentation ideal.
