500 $aThe Weymouth Female Anti-Slavery Society wants the use of the Orthodox Meeting House "for the purpose of hearing an Anti-Slavery lecture from Mr. Garrison." Anne W. Weston explains why the request is made every year even though is is always refused. The Universalist Meeting House is available, but the orthodox parishioners won't go there. The pro-slavery orthodox churches protect their followers from anti-slavery doctrine. "Could the infamous war with Mexico continue another month were all the churches of the Free states thrown freely open to the Anti-Slavery lectures?" She gives general arguments in favor of allowing the abolitionists to use the church.
