Examines the problems of the Conversos after 1391 and discrimination against them by the Inquisition and through the "limpieza de sangre" statutes enacted in the "Libro verde de Aragón", a register of converted Jews. Discusses the life and status of prominent Conversos who held high office at the royal court and who sponsored Columbus's voyages to America (e.g. Luis de Santángel, Gabriel Sánchez, Alfonso de la Caballería). States that many Spanish American colonists from Aragón were in fact Conversos.
