La sélection de quatre cent quarante textes publiés ici illustre, dans ses aspects économiques et administratifs, la vie de ce centre ecclésiastique entre le début du viie et la moitié du viiie siècle environ. Cette documentation confirme l'importance du prêtre Marc, une figure dont l'activité et l'influence sont déjà connues grâce à d'autres sites de la région. The material found during the excavations included approximately 1400 Coptic ostraca and several dozen fragments of Coptic papyri. The selection of 440 texts published here illustrates, from the economic and administrative point of view, the life of this ecclesiastical center between the early 7th and half of the 8th century. This documentation confirms the importance of the priest Mark, whose activities and influence are already known from other sites in the region.
