500 $aThe woodcut map has title: A map of New-England, being the first that ever was here cut, and done by the best pattern that could be had, which being in some plaes defective, it made the other less exact: yet doth ot sufficiently shew the scituation f the countrey, and conveniently well the distance of places. This edition has what is considered the correct map for this edition, the mound immediately beneath the title being designated as "The Wine Hills," the Boston edition having the proper designation "The White Hills". It may have been made by John Foster, a Boston printmaker and bookseller.
